Ford Pearson, with his first SLR camera, the venerable Pentax K1000 circa 1983. (Note that Portland Rose Festival banner behind me--I shimmied up a street light and nabbed it to impress my girlfriend!)

I grew up here in the Valley. I went to Whitman and Jennifer, hung around the Boys' Club and played PeeWee sports here. I have lots of fond memories of Lewiston and this special part of the Pacific Northwest. Like circling the boys club (when it was next to Fenton Park) on the Yamaha 80 I shared with my brother, or racing around the Big-V parking lot on a homemade go-kart. We spent a lot of summers fishing Winchester Lake and camping near Orofino Creek and Washington Creek, and the winters with lots of snow... sledding down 5th Street and hooky-bobbin' everywhere.

When I was 13 I relocated, first to Pullman and eventually to Portland, OR, where I remained for almost 30 years. It was while living in Portland that I discovered my love for photography. I purchased my first SLR in 1983... and have spent decades enjoying the world through a viewfinder (longer than many of my clients have been alive!). I started shooting professionally after I returned to Lewiston. I have the best family in the known universe and a wiener dog that can run faster than any land animal in North America.

I'd be happy to discuss your photography needs in person or over the phone. Please call me at (208) 743-0569.

I've posted a few Blasts from the Past images below. Friend Me on FaceBook if you'd like to see more!

Early Ford, low mileage, Lewiston, ID.

Lordy it's Fordy... with film!? Mid 80s.

Ford placing a plaque ZZ Top sent us (Two Louies Magazine, a local music publication for which I was a writer, sales guy and eventually Associate Publisher) on Buck Munger's Wall of Fame inside the Two Louies Mansion. Mid 80s.

1975-ish... Lewiston, ID, former Light Heavyweight boxing champ Archie Moore presenting Boy of Year Awards to Ford Pearson and other Valley youth. Mr. Moore was in town for about a year filming Charles Bronson's Breakheart Pass movie. He helped our boxing coach, Gus Hernandez, teach us technique and was an extremely talented ping pong player. Ed (my brother) and I were both Lewiston Boys' Club Boys of the Year twice.

1985, My brother Ed (left) with me on his wedding day, Lewiston, ID.

Mid-80s, Mad Man Ford as an Account Manager with McDonald, Babb and Clarkson in downtown Portland. I handled the Kent Heating LTD (a New Zealand-based wood stove mfr. owned by Dutch Shell) and Rippling River Resort accounts.

Ford, early 90s, Portland, OR. I'm free of the plastic fantastic corporate world and working as a self-employed rep. for Visa/Mastercard, setting up businesses with merchant accounts.

Ford... oy, the collar. Mid-80s.

Ford... oy, the hair. Mid-80s.

Ford, Mid 80s... another publicity shot, this one to accompany the announcement of my promotion to Senior Account Manager at McDonald, Babb and Clarkson advertising in Portland, OR.

1988, the Boo Ball public radio fundraiser, at the Train Station in Portland. Craig McPherson, myself and a few others volunteered as photographers for the event ($4.00 for a 'roid). This costume was cool 'cause you could make it wiggle like a swimming fish as you navigated the crowd.
